TIPS FOR YOUR VISIT
RESERVATIONS — We’ve tried to explain everywhere we can, but here is another reminder that advance reservations may be required depending on when you visit. The cafe side of our business is always available to anyone at anytime with great views into the Cat Lounge, but to actually go inside the Cat Lounge to interact with the cats you will need to reserve a time. Reservations are $15/person and are for a one hour visit, beginning at the top of the hour, every hour. We only allow up to 8 people inside the Cat Lounge at a time for the comfort of our cats and our humans. Many days, especially weekends, are often booked completely full days in advance, so if you show up without a reservation you wouldn’t be able to visit the cats that day. Other days, especially weekdays, often have immediate availability and you may be able to reserve your time with the cats upon arrival. We cannot guarantee immediate walk-in availability and hate to have to let people down when we are booked full, but you can always check the latest availability and make your reservation on the booking calendar here on our website.
WAIVERS — Each individual entering the Cat Lounge must have a waiver completed with their first and last name. Parents must complete the waiver in the name of the minor for individuals under 18 years of age. We will look up your waivers and help complete them if necessary upon your arrival. Here is a link to the waiver: https://dontstressmeowt-catcafe.com/waiver
KIDS — We are a very kid-friendly business, but please note that children under 12yr must be accompanied by an adult inside the Cat Lounge. Please exercise a little extra caution when feeding the cats treats, as sometimes the cats can get a little overeager and some of our younger guests have been scratched. We have no minimum age and kids below 1yr are free. We have two high-chairs available that you can use for any reason inside the Cafe or Cat Lounge. We have a baby changing table in the restroom.
PARKING — Parking is available in the gated lot on the west side of our building, spaces on the east side of the building, and street parking in the outside lane of eastbound and westbound Linwood Blvd.
PARKING — Please allow a few extra minutes if visiting us 11am-3pm Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. That is the only time when parking can be a little difficult due to the very popular Edge Craft Barbeque next door. Or even better - build a day around visiting us, then Dead People's Stuff "Architectural Antiques + Design", then Edge Craft Barbeque.
RUNNING LATE? — No worries! You have until 30 minutes after the start of your reservation before we assume you are a no-show and we may sell your spot to a walk-in guest.
DRINKS — Drinks are allowed inside the Cat Lounge but food is not. If you don't finish your snacks prior to your reservation, we are happy to hold them behind the bar for you.
SHOES — Shoes are not allowed inside the Cat Lounge. Exceptions are made for necessary health and personal reasons. We provide sanitized socks for you, or you can wear your own socks, or you can be barefoot. This is a very critical preventative measure to ensure the health of our cat population.
HOMELESS — Our location is around the block from Homeless Alliance and homeless individuals are often gathered in front of the Homeless Alliance building on Virginia Ave. We have never had any serious issues at our little group of businesses here on Linwood Blvd. and have personally grown comfortable with the area over time, but understand it can feel uncomfortable to some and want to inform our guests of everything we can prior to arrival.
CASHLESS — To further ensure the safety and comfort of our awesome staff, we do not accept cash as a method of payment. This was not a decision that we made lightly, but believe it is the right thing to do out of respect and care for our team members.
CAT TREATS — If you have included Cat Treat Tokens in your reservation or purchase some at the coffee bar, please be careful when giving the cats their treats. They can sometimes get a little overeager and cause scratches when reaching for their goodies. All of our cats are fully vetted and up-to-date on their shots. We do provide antiseptic and band-aids as needed.
SEATING — If during your visit you find the seating inside the Cat Lounge to be insufficient for any reason, please inform staff and we will bring in additional chairs for you or can remove chairs to provide more accessibility for wheelchairs. We have a couch, three tall chairs, two short chairs, and two floor area rugs so you can lay covered in the kitties.
ADOPTIONS — We have between 25 and 40 adoptable cats at any given time, plus 4 resident cats who exist to be the steady force that gets all of our new kitties up to speed when they arrive. Same-day adoptions are not allowed, but applications can be made to Safe Haven Animal Rescue on their website with a turnaround period of just a few days.
